Marriage seems to be bad for your sex life. Couples who have sex over four times a week before theirwedding, barely have it once a week three years after tying the knot, a survey in Britain has found.

Researchers found that before marriage, couples can hope to have sex more than four times a week. But after three years of married life, there is a dramatic drop in their sex life and most couples have sex just once every seven days.

The survey was conducted among 3,000 married couple.

Six out of ten couples think that marriage has completely ruined the excitement of having sex, Daily Mail reported.

Another astounding result of the survey was that just below half of all married couples said that their relationship was more like friends than lovers."Unfortunately, while you can be deeply in love with someone and want to spend the rest of your life with them, it is also possible to want more from the relationship," a spokesman for extra-marital dating service www.lovinglinks.co.uk was quoted as saying.

"A partner might be supportive, funny, intelligent, and kind, but if they don't inspire confidence in the bedroom, or don't meet expectations, sexually life can be frustrating," he added.

He said: "It is at times like this when eyes start to wander, and folks start to think about having a no-strings affair with someone else...We have good reason to believe many relationships are strengthened by a little out-of-marriage activity."

The survey revealed that 59 percent of couples think that their sex life had worsened after marriage.

Incidentally, eight in ten couples were in a sexual rut by having sex at the same time, in the same place and in the same positions every time they slept together. As a matter of fact, 79 percent of the respondents were happier getting a good night's sleep than making the effort to have spontaneous sex in the middle of the night. Two thirds of the couples who had an affair admitted that sex was mind-blowing compared to the once-a-week sex with their husband or wife.

A fifth were ready to have a one-night stand if the opportunity presented itself or if their sex life with their partner didn't improve. And nearly a quarter said they had a one-night stand to satisfy their craving for good sex.

The Loving Links spokesman said: "Modern marriages are becoming a little more open where sex is concerned, and these days we are quicker to forgive if someone has a little one-night stand."
The results of the survey showed that almost two thirds of the respondents blamed their hectic lifestyle for their unhappy sex life and 80 percent were often too tired to bother once the day is over.

Sex scandals involving politicians dominate the campaign here. The ruling Left Democratic Frontand Congress-led United Democratic Front are locked in a battle of nerves in the run up to the April 13 polls. Meanwhile, the BJP hopes the "ideological vacuum" works to its advantage.

The Left charge is led by its star campaigner chief minister VS Achutanandan. The veteran Marxist leader, who enjoys a clean image in the state, has been quick to target the UDF over the "ice cream parlour'' sex scandal. Recent revelations sought to link coalition leader and ex-industries minister P K Kunhalikutty of the Indian Union Muslim Leagueto the scandal. This was followed by fresh leads in yet another case of the sexual abuse of a minor girl in Kothamangalam in Eranakulam district. Investigations appeared to point to Indian Union Muslim League and Congress leaders.

The "ice cream case'' revolves around the 1997 discovery that a Kozhikode parlour was used as a front for the flesh trade. Eight years later it cost the industries minister his job. It figured in the 2006 Assembly elections as well and the Left made good use of it.
The UDF is returning the compliment by reminding the chief minister about his promises regarding the 2004 death of 18-year-old Shaari S Nair. She was the alleged victim of a sex racket and died giving birth to a baby girl in a medical college hospital in Kottayam district. VS, then leader of the opposition, had made it a campaign issue in the last election, promising to find and expose the perpetrators. But nothing has happened and the UDF alleges he is protecting CPM politicians.
Clearly, Kerala's election season is all about sex scandals. Are voters titillated and angry enough for it to matter at the ballot box? No, says political commentator B R P Bhaskar. "These cases are not recent and there is a limit to which one can flog them. The law of diminishing returns applies here too''. So will Kerala's voters think of the national agenda? No, says Bhaskar again.
Hot Desi DoggyThe governing Left front seems to believe it can campaign on corruption—in the state, not nationally. The chief minister has been helped by the conviction and sentencing for graft of ex-minister and Congress ally R Balakrishna Pillai.
A new study suggests that college-aged men are very likely to remember a woman's initial sexual interest (attraction or rejection), especially when the woman in question is thought to be attractive, is dressed more provocatively, and expresses positive sexual interest.

Men who were shown full-body photographs of college-aged women who expressed cues of sexual interest or rejection, represented mixed sexual histories, and a capacity for varying degrees of sexually aggressive behaviour.

Throughout the study they were presented with previously viewed photos and new photos of the same women in which they communicated the opposite cue (e.g., rejection instead of sexual interest).

On an average, every man showed excellent memory for whether women initially displayed sexual interest or rejection, especially when she initially expressed positive sexual interest, was dressed more provocatively, and was thought to be attractive.

Lead author Teresa Treat observes, "Misremembering a woman's level of sexual interest could prompt some men to make an unwanted sexual advance and become frustrated when a woman doesn't respond as anticipated."

"Conversely, college-aged men who report more frequent serious romantic relationships with women show better memory for college-aged women's sexual-interest and rejection cues. This suggests that tracking and remembering a partner's emotions may play a role in the initiation and maintenance of a serious romantic relationship," she added.

The long-term significance of the findings will depend on whether the memory of sexual interest impacts the male's subsequent behaviour, experiences, and social decisions when cues of sexual interest are presented in a more lifelike manner.

However, numerous factors other than memory for a partner's emotions play a central role in developing both positive and negative sexual experiences among young adults.
